Common questions about specifying, ordering, and installing a complete Montana Fire Pit system. Reach out for anything specific to your project.

  • What is the difference between the Steel and Aluminum material options?

    Steel brings mass and presence. Our mild steel option is 3/16″ thick, finished in our highly durable in-house powder coat, and holds a clean modern edge that pairs with stone, timber, and concrete. Marine-grade aluminum is also 3/16″ thick, weighs significantly less, and doesn’t ever rust, which makes it the right call for rooftops, podium decks, and coastal sites. We also offer 10 gauge corten steel for projects where a living, rust-toned patina is part of the design intent. All three vessel materials are built around the same Crossfire brass burner by Warming Trends, so flame performance is identical across the line.

  • Does the table arrive fully assembled?

    Yes. Every Montana Fire Pit is fully assembled, tested, and inspected in our Missoula shop before it is crated. Burner fit, ignition, panel alignment, and hardware are all checked before shipping. On site, your installer connects fuel and confirms ignition. Nothing ships flat-pack.

  • Do you offer CAD or BIM files for architectural planning?

    Yes. Spec sheets, CAD blocks, BIM-ready objects, and full drawing packages with plan views, sections, and rough-in details are available through our Trade Program. Verified design professionals receive access after a short application review. Cut sheets are publicly available here. (link)

  • Can I use a standard 20lb propane tank with the Olympic table?

    Yes. Our Fire Tables are available in propane configurations.

  • What is the typical lead time?

    Every Montana Fire Pit is made to order. Plan on roughly five weeks from order placement to ship date. Lead times can shift seasonally with demand, and Trade Program accounts receive priority production scheduling. If you have a firm install date, share it at the time of order and we will work it into the build queue. You can also pay for expedited shipping and only have a 2 week lead time on venture series tables.

  • What is included in a complete fire system?

    A complete system includes the fire table or vessel, a Crossfire brass burner by Warming Trends sized for the table footprint, the ignition system you specify, gas train components, grey lava pebbles, and a custom-built shipping crate. Site work, gas line, and final connection are handled by your gas contractor or installer.

  • What does my contractor need to know before installation?

    Three things matter: gas supply, clearances, and substrate. Your contractor needs the BTU load and gas line sizing for the table you order, both published on every spec sheet. Clearances to combustibles, overhead elements, and adjacent seating need to be confirmed against local code. The substrate needs to support the unit’s weight and allow service access to the burner pan. Our team can walk through any of this with your installer before site work starts.
