Privacy Policy

Montana Fire Pits is an American manufacturer, curator, and authorized dealer of outdoor fire features — including custom Montana-made steel fire tables, complete fire pit systems, GFRC concrete fire tables, Warming Trends Crossfire® burner systems, fire media, and accessories. We serve homeowners, contractors, and design professionals, including through our trade/Pro program, and many of our products are made to order in the USA. We are based at 1821 South Ave W, Suite 303, Missoula, MT 59801.

Information you provide to us. When you place or attempt to place an order, create an account, join our trade/Pro program, request support, use financing, or contact us, we collect information such as your name, billing and shipping address, email address, phone number, order details, and payment information (for example, credit card details, which are processed by our payment processor). If you apply to the trade/Pro program we may also collect business or professional information. If you apply for employment through the Site, we collect the information in your application.

Information from your communications with us. When you contact us by phone, web form, live chat, email, text message, or product review, we collect the contents of those communications and the contact details you provide. Our live chat and support tools may retain transcripts of your conversations.

Information we collect automatically (“Device Information”). When you visit the Site, we and our service providers automatically collect certain information about your device and how you use the Site, including your IP address, browser type and settings, device and operating system information, time zone, referring and exit pages, the pages and products you view, search terms, and how you interact with the Site. We collect this information using cookies, log files, web beacons, tags, pixels, and similar technologies (see “Cookies and tracking technologies” below).

Account and sign-in information. If you choose to sign in using Google, we receive limited information from Google to authenticate you, and a cookie may be set to remember your sign-in state.

Cookies are small data files placed on your device. We use cookies and similar technologies for several purposes, and we group them into categories in our consent tool:

• Strictly necessary cookies enable core functionality such as maintaining your shopping cart and checkout, security, and load balancing. The Site cannot function properly without these.
• Functional cookies remember your preferences and enable enhanced features, including financing widgets (Affirm), live chat (Tidio), our burner configurator (Zoovu), embedded video players, and sign-in state.
• Analytics and performance cookies help us understand how visitors use the Site so we can improve it — for example, through Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity.
• Advertising cookies are used to measure and deliver advertising, including retargeting and measuring the performance of campaigns — for example, through Google Ads and the Meta (Facebook) pixel.

Only strictly necessary technologies load before you consent. We use the personal information we collect to:

• Process, fulfill, and deliver your orders, including handling payments, arranging shipping, and sending invoices, order confirmations, and shipping updates
• Create and manage your account and trade/Pro program membership
• Provide customer service and technical support, and respond to your questions, quotes, and requests
• Offer and administer financing options and our burner configurator and other interactive tools
• Communicate with you about your orders, and — where you have opted in — send marketing, promotions, and product information by email or text message
• Screen orders for potential fraud and risk (in particular using your IP address), and protect the security of the Site
• Understand and improve how customers use the Site, and measure the effectiveness of our marketing and advertising and comply with our legal obligations and enforce our terms.

We share personal information with service providers and third parties who help us operate our business and the Site, and only as needed for the purposes described in this Policy. The categories of recipients include:

• Payment processors to process your payment Stripe, and Affirm where you choose financing
• Shipping, freight, and logistics providers to deliver your orders
• Technology and hosting providers, including our website host and our customer relationship management system (Salesforce), which we use to manage orders, customers, and support
• Analytics and performance providers, including Google (Google Analytics) and Microsoft (Clarity)
• Advertising partners, including Google (Google Ads) and Meta (Facebook), for advertising and campaign measurement
• Communication and support tools, including our live chat provider (Tidio), and our email and text-message providers
• Interactive-tool and content providers, including our burner configurator (Zoovu) and embedded video providers

We may also disclose personal information to comply with applicable laws and regulations, to respond to a subpoena, search warrant, or other lawful request, to enforce our agreements, or to protect our rights, property, or safety and those of others. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

We do not sell your personal information for money. However, some of our use of advertising and analytics cookies may be considered “selling” or “sharing” (for cross-context behavioral advertising) under California law. You can opt out of this — see “Your choices” and “Your California privacy rights” below.

We use personal information to show you advertisements and marketing that may be of interest to you, including on other websites and platforms (for example, through Google Ads and the Meta pixel). These technologies load only after you consent through our cookie banner. Marketing email. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in any marketing message.

We retain your Order Information and account records for as long as needed to provide our products and services, maintain business and financial records, resolve disputes, and comply with our legal obligations (for example, tax and accounting requirements), unless a longer period is required by law. We retain other personal information only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, after which we delete or de-identify it.

The Site is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

The Site may contain links to third-party websites and services that we do not control. This Policy does not apply to those third parties, and we encourage you to review their privacy policies.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to our practices or for operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. When we do, we will revise the “Effective date” above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice.
