Cast aluminium fire pits are the closest thing to install-and-forget in our line. The metal doesn’t rust, the powder coat resists UV, and the burner technology underneath has no moving parts in the user-facing portion. Maintenance is mostly about keeping debris out and confirming the gas connections.
Every spring, lift the burner pan and clear out anything that wintered in there — leaves, cobwebs, and (in our experience) the occasional small mouse. Wipe the burner ports with a soft brush; never use steel wool, which leaves filings that block the gas flow. A damp cloth on the powder coat will keep it looking the way it did the day you bought it.
Every five years, we recommend a service visit so we can pressure-test the gas line and check the ignitor. That’s usually it for the lifetime of the pit.
