What is the material used to craft Seaside furniture?
Seaside’s furniture is made from High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) lumber, an all-weather material that does not require sealing, painting or staining. It will not rot or splinter, and contains superior UV inhibitors that resist fading. It is also not affected by most corrosive substances, and will not absorb moisture or promote bacterial growth.
Is Seaside’s HDPE made from recycled content?
Yes. The majority of our material is made from post-consumer and post industrial HDPE, including milk jugs and laundry detergent bottles. Some of the lighter shades, like white, require more virgin material to ensure the white is crisp and sharp.
Is this furniture suitable for high-wind or coastal locations?
Yes, this is an ideal location for Seaside furniture. The weight of our material/furniture is equivalent, if not more, than most hardwoods like teak. It will not move or tip in windy conditions.
Where is your product made?
Every piece of furniture that we offer begins on the design table at our family-owned Rhode Island facility, after which all of the raw materials that we use to create our award-winning Seaside Casual Furniture products are machined, assembled, processed, packaged, and shipped from our warehouse in Coventry, R.I. We stand strongly behind our Rhode Island roots, including our continuing efforts to source our materials from within the U.S.A. whenever we reasonably can.
Why does Seaside cost a little bit more than similar HDPE furniture?
- We build our furniture from a high grade of HDPE for a furniture grade finish on the surface and edges of our products.
- Our material is extruded at a slower pace for a smooth consistent finish, free from large voids, cracks and dimples that result in a rough surface that can become an irritant on the skin.
- Our fasteners are counter sunk for a smooth and finished appearance.
- Our furniture is manufactured in a modern, clean and safe plant owned by a fifth-generation family company who has stood behind their products and services for 100 years.
How do I maintain my Seaside furniture?
To maintain your furniture, simply clean it with soap and water. For advanced cleaning use a commercial deck cleaner found in most home improvement stores. Avoid pressure washing. For more details see: Care & Maintenance
What are the properties of your fasteners?
We use all stainless steel fasteners. Please note: In coastal areas where extreme humidity is present, stainless steel hardware may require more frequent cleaning and maintenance to avoid rusting.

Do I need to store my furniture during the winter?
No, all of our furniture can be left outdoors, uncovered, all year round.
CUSHIONS
What are your cushions made from?
We manufacture our cushions from durable, 100% solution dyed acrylic fabrics from Sunbrella© and Outdura©. All of our cushions are manufactured in the USA.
Are your fabrics waterproof?
Our cushions are water repellent but are not waterproof. If cushions become saturated, hang or place them on one edge and allow the water to drain away until they are dry. Do not store cushions when they are wet.
Envirowood is made from an extremely high performance polymer that does not require sealing, painting or staining. It will not rot or splinter, and contains UV inhibitors that resist fading. Envirowood is not affected by most corrosive substances, and will not absorb moisture or promote bacterial growth. To maintain Envirowood furniture you must simply clean it regularly with soap and water (avoid pressure washing). The stainless steel fasteners used to assemble your furniture are virtually maintenance free under normal conditions. Seaside uses only the highest quality stainless fasteners to assemble furniture; however in coastal areas hardware will require regular washing or rinsing. Avoid using harsh chemicals on Envirowood furniture.
Seaside Casual EnviroWood® Furniture 20 Year Residential and 5 Year Commercial Limited Warranty
Seaside Casual offers a limited warranty (for normal use) against the structural failure of Envirowood Furniture for up to 20 years for residential use and up to 5 years for commercial use (both warranties are from date of purchase*). We further warranty our furniture to be free from manufacturer defects in material and workmanship for up to 1 year from date of purchase. Seaside will, at its discretion, repair or replace defective furniture with the same or similar product (if discontinued) at no charge. No cash refunds will be made. Shipping and handling is not covered by this warranty. Envirowood, although extremely durable to the elements, may fade when exposed to direct sunlight and some elements may cause staining of the furniture surface. Fading and staining are excluded from this warranty. This warranty applies to Envirowood Furniture manufactured after January 1, 1999 and applies to the original purchaser only.
Cushions and Pillows 1 Year Limited Warranty
Cushions are warranted to be free from manufacturing defects for 1 year for residential and commercial use from date of purchase*. Compression of cushions is not covered by this warranty. Although our cushions are water resistant they are not water proof and will absorb water in certain conditions. We advise that you shelter cushions in rainy conditions to avoid extended drying times. This warranty does not cover the failure of products which, in our opinion was caused by acts of God, accident, neglect, abuse or improper shipping or handling and is void if our care and maintenance instructions were not properly followed.
