Up here in “the last best place” on earth, we love ending a day of work or adventure, or both, wrapped-up in the warm glow of firelight. We believe that the best way to end a long day is by staring into dancing flames and burning embers, on a cool evening, under a blanket of stars with your closest people! The only thing that can dampen such a magical moment is suffocating smoke, firewood splinters and smelling like a house on fire the next day. Here at Montana Fire Pits, it’s our honor to create the BEST, brightest, smokeless and mess-free fire pit experience for you to enjoy with your family and friends for years to come.
To make your fire pit experience perfectly complete, we have created and designed the BEST in Fire Media. Our sleek and smart Ponderosa Pines Steel Logs are each individually and uniquely hand-crafted by our master welders. Unlike ceramic log sets, our steel logs don’t crumble and they also get MUCH hotter causing them to retain and radiate that extra heat for up to 30mins after you have lowered or turned off your fire, allowing you to use less gasoline which will save you money!
Our Ponderosa Pine Steel Logs add the perfect stylish finish to your fire pit design, keep you warmer longer, and help you save money on gas. The only thing you will miss is the mess!
PRO TIP: Light-up a couple of your favorite fragrance candles for the final touch! We recommend one of the many Montana themed homemade candles (Ponderosa Pine, Mountain Meadow or Mountain Air) from our friends at Montana Farmhouse Candles!

Ponderosa pine
(pinus ponderosa)
“Ponderosa pine is the state tree of Montana. Ponderosa occur in the warm and dry forest and can live for hundreds of years and become very large and beautiful trees. The trees are intolerant meaning they require full sunlight to grow well… The bark looks somewhat like a jigsaw puzzle with its plates, which do serve a purpose.
If the tree catches fire these plates pop off as the bark burns. The tree in effect is shedding its burning bark. This adaptation, along with the great thickness of the bark, allows the tree to be very resistant to low intensity fire.
The tree has needles from 3 to 5 inches long that occur in groups of 2 or 3. The cones of the ponderosa are about as large as a baseball and can be identified by sharp points at the end of the cone scale.”
